and Cathy Oats Support Haitian Charity

Oats, founders of Wellness International Network, Ltd. (WIN),
an undisputed leader in the health and nutrition industries,
made a difference in the lives of hundreds of Haitians during
the holiday season. While cruising with family and friends,
the Oats organized a large charitable donation for Hearts
Together For Haiti, a charity dedicated to implementing educational
and health programs into the local communities.
The
Oats pulled together donations of toiletries, clothes and
toys which were sent to the charity arriving in time for the
holiday season. “We are very fortunate in both our business
and personal lives and we wanted to make this Christmas special
for the people of Haiti who barely have the essentials to
survive,” says Cathy Oats. “It’s easy to
get caught up in hustle and bustle of life, but when you see
the impact that can be made by simply providing essential
supplies, helping this charity make a difference in hundreds
of lives, it’s rewarding knowing we were able to play
a part in this admirable cause.”
Located
in the Caribbean, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western
Hemisphere. With a population of more than eight million people,
80 percent are sadly living in poverty. Hearts Together for
Haiti was created in 1996 and works together with Haitian
communities providing various educational, medical and nutritional
programs. “Hearts together for Haiti provides support
and assistance to the Haitian communities as they learn the
skills to go beyond surviving ... to thriving,” says
a representative from the charity.
The
Oats are organizing a larger donation for a trip in April
and are planning to focus more of WIN’s 2006 fundraising
efforts on Hearts Together For Haiti.
